On Friday, April 21, Star Cluster Quilts sponsored its first free Sewing and Quilting Party at the Palmyra (Maine) Community Center. An estimated 25 people attended the event.

Julie, owner and proprietor of Star Cluster Quilts, and her daughter, Leah, dipped into their private collection of quilts, sewing projects, and machines to display for attendees. The walls were lined with quilts and quilt tops. There was a display of antique sewing machines along one wall and many hand-sewn items were placed around the room.

Participants got to choose from an assortment of activities including:

  • Try a Treadle (sewing machien)
  • Hand Sew a Heart
  • Sew a Four Patch
  • Learn the Lingo

to name a few.

A Sewing Party Bingo card kept people informed of activities while providing a chance to win prizes.
